An Acquaintance with Darkness is a historical fiction book by Ann Rinaldi. It was an ok book, because in some parts I found that the author used the same phrase over and over again. The book is about a 14 year old girl named Emily Pigbush and she is living in the time when President Lincoln is assassinated. Her mother dies of the "wasting disease" and she is forced to live with her Uncle Valentine. While Emily is living with her Uncle, he wont let her see her best friend Annie because her mother is a suspected accomplice to the assassination of the President. She also discovers that her Uncle Valentine is a body snatcher..........
This was an OK book, but it wasnt one of my favorites.
